On 21st February, the IDF Technical Institute solemnly observed Shaheed Dibosh (Martyrs’ Day) and International Mother Language Day, honoring the brave students who sacrificed their lives in 1952 to protect the right to speak the Bangla language.
Through a gathering held at the institute, students, teachers, and staff paid tribute to the Language Martyrs with respect and gratitude. The program reflected on the historic Language Movement, which later led UNESCO to declare 21st February as International Mother Language Day in 1999, promoting linguistic diversity and respect for all languages worldwide.
This day reminds us that language is more than communication — it is identity, culture, and dignity. We remain committed to preserving our heritage while promoting knowledge and education for future generations.
We respectfully remember the martyrs whose sacrifice shaped our nation.
